50% Male Experimental Theatre fuse story and dance to illustrate the underbelly of our society. We are delighted to welcome them to ABSOLUT Fringe for the first time this year. – FESTIVAL DIRECTOR We bend over backwards. We stretch ourselves, aiming for a well-paid job and a comfortable life. We’re constantly reaching out, for family, for love and exhausting ourselves for a passionate embrace. How badly can we lose ourselves in the rush of trying to achieve it all? What happens to us when we get everything we want in life? A multi-layered tale told through movement, gesture, dance and wrapped in music and rich visuals, this is a universal story that questions our search for happiness. Choreographed by Anna Gąciarz, ‘Seekers’ show is brought to you by 50% Male Experimental Theatre, a multicultural group of artists from Poland, Ireland and Uzbekistan. The group first got together in February 2009, discovering an amazing chemistry that bound them together regardless their backgrounds, nationality, language and personal stories. 50% Male Experimental Theatre is an amazing example of a new and creative project that integrates people through the medium of arts and theatre, to enrich the local Irish cultural scene with this unique yet universal experience. Extra Information: 50% Male Experimental Theatre (50%MET) is comprised of three female and three male performers and the show tells its story through the universal body language of physical theatre and video art. The group was founded in 2009 and successfully presented their debut show ‘Peter Pans’ to a full-house at Dublin’s D-Light Studios and at ‘Sztukowanie’ Art Festival in Poland. Following their success, in April 2011 50% MET have been invited to present ‘Peter Pans’ in Project Arts Centre, receiving a warm welcome from the international audience. At ABSOLUT Fringe Festival, 50% Male Experimental Theatre represent cultural diversity of a 150,000-strong Polish community in Ireland.
