Polish Carnival event (“Zapusty”)

Dear Members and Friends,
On Sunday, 16th February, at 5 pm, the Irish Polish Society (in the Polish House, 20 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2) is organizing a Polish Carnival event (“Zapusty”) .
There will be a Carnival Concert of entertaining light music (popular classical music, tangos and waltzes, some film music, jazz, and more).
Concert Performers: Anna Kiselyova – pianist, and guests.
Traditional Carnival fritters faworki (Angel wings) and other ‘goodies’ will be served after the performance.
Cost of participation (payable at the door): € 3 for members of the Irish Polish Society € 6 for non-members Children free of charge
Everybody is welcome. Come and bring your friends!
Carnival is an annual festival celebrated in many countries before Lent. In Poland Zapusty (Polish Carnival) has been known since the early 16th century. It was always a time of public merrymaking, feasting, music, dancing, fancy dresses and masquerade balls.
