“The Polish Community in Ireland” will give a special Irish Person of the Year 2010 Award to Mr Martin Reynolds, Chairman of the Irish Polish Society and renowned Dublin architect, for his work in promoting links between Ireland and Poland.This will be part of The Great Dublin Gala organized by the Polish Community in Ireland with a beauty contest for the most beautiful Polish lady in Ireland, Miss Poland. Music and more. Venue: Liberty Hall Theatre. Saturday, 19th March 2011 @ 7.00pm. All Welcome.

The Dictation Competition in the Polish House on February 20th, organized by Anna Szewc, was a great success. The prize-giving was supported by the Polish Embassy.
It was followed by a superb concert by the young Polish singer, Piotr Hruszwicki, accompanied by pianist, Anna Liszewska. The event was up to the standards of the National Concert Hal, but more enjoyable in the intimate atmosphere of the Polish House. It was organized by the music master, Maciej Smolenski.
Each Sunday there is an English class in the Polish House from 3.00pm and a discussion group from 4.00pm. Everyone is invited to take part and to meet members of the IPS committee.

On Saturday, 19th March, Liberty Hall Theatre at 19.00.
Evening spectacle organised by the Polish Community in Ireland to present the winner of the Most Beautiful Polish Girl in Ireland with her crown and to select the Most Deserving Pole in Ireland with a Certificate of Merit.
During the evening our esteemed Chairman, Martin Reynolds will be presented with a Certificate of Worth for fostering good relations between the Polish & Irish communities.
On Sunday, March 20th from 4.00 pm a number of distinguished Polish visitors will be in the Polish House, 20 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2. Prof. Pawel Soroka (poet, journalist and political scientist), University of Warsaw, will talk on Polish industry & the economic situation in Poland.
Prof. Krzysztof Pawlowski, President of Higher School of Business, Nowy Sacz, will deal with the subject of one of his publications, “the knowledge society.”
Both lectures will be bi-lingual and all are welcome. Refreshments served.
We also hope to have a visit from Mr Miroslaw Hermaszewski, the Polish astronaut who became the first Pole in space in Soyuz 30 in 1978.
A Guided Tour of Poland and Ukraine will take place from Sept. 16th- 23th. We will land in Rzeszow and overnight in the Renaissance city of Zamosc, travel to Ukraine for a stay of 3 days in the historic city of Lwow before returning via the Polish mountains to wonderful Krakow.
Day 1. Arrive Rzeszow – short visit to city centre and drive to Zamosc.
Day 2. Walking tour in the classical city centre. Time at leisure & World War II museum. Drive to Belzec concentration camp where 600,000 Jews were murdered. Border crossing to Lwow to stay in the historic Hotel George.
Day 3. Tour of Lwow’s Old City with many historic churches & museums. Young Lions Memorial and Lychaiske Cemetery, High Castle and Outdoor Museum. Evening at the baroque Opera House.
Day 4. Coach to historic Zhovkva – ancient churches and monasteries with an amazing mural church. Optional visit to an Orthodox monastery complex.
In the evening there will be a farewell with Lwow Polish community: writers, politicians, etc.
Day 5. After breakfast via mountain route to Poland, overnight in Podkarpacie.
Day 6. Drive to Krakow for overnight, possible visit to Wieliczka salt mine.
Day 7. City tour & visits to Wawel etc.
Day 8. Krakow. Day at leisure to explore on your own.
Evening transfer to the airport for flight to Dublin at 20.45. Arrive back in Dublin at 22.35.
Cost: € 575.00
