MENINAS DUO
The duo, made up of singer Ewelina Koniec and guitarist Bianka Szalaty, was founded in 2015 at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. The duo combines a warm mezzo-soprano sound with the traditional timbre of a classical guitar. A significant part of the repertoire are Bianca’s original arrangements, which gives the interpretations an authentic and individual character. Ewelina graduated with honors from the Academy of Music. St. Moniuszko in Gdańsk under the supervision of prof. Ewa Marciniec, broadening her vocal skills also at the Guidhall School of Music and Drama in London in the class of Janice Chapman. Bianka is a graduate of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the guitar class of Łukasz Kuropaczewski and is currently a student of the prestigious postgraduate studies “Konzertexamen” at the Folkwang Universitat der Kunste in Essen (Germany) in the guitar class of prof. Tomasz Zawierucha.
