The Irish-Polish Society and the Polish Social and Cultural Association cordially invite you to a concert of songs by Polish composers on the occasion of the Constitution Day of May 3, performed by Alicja RUMIANOWSKA – mezzo-soprano, soloist of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk. At the piano is a young, talented pianist, Maja BROOKS.

The program includes works by Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Mieczysław Karłowicz.

Alicja RUMIANOWSKA – mezzo-soprano. A graduate of the Academy of Music. Stanisław Moniuszko in Gdańsk. For many years, a soloist of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, where she sang, among others: in the operas: The Haunted Manor by S. Moniuszko, Nabucco and Rigoletto by G. Verdi, Die Fledermaus by J. Strauss, The Marriage of Figaro by W. A. ​​Mozart, Carmen by G. Bizet. She has participated in the Baltic Opera’s foreign tours many times. She also collaborated with the Baltic Philharmonic, the Pomeranian Philharmonic and Cappella Gedanensis. In 2014, she recorded an album with songs by Gdańsk composers W. Walentynowicz, K. Pałubicki and H.H. Jabłoński, for which she received the award of the Mayor of Gdańsk. He has been teaching singing classes at his alma mater for over twenty years; currently, as an academic professor.

Maja BROOKS – pianist and double bassist. A graduate of the Academy of Music. Feliks Nowowiejski in Bydgoszcz. Winner of piano and double bass competitions, among others. first place at the Feis Ceoil in Dublin, in the double bass group. She has been working as an accompanist for years, collaborating with choirs, singers and instrumentalists. She successfully teaches piano and double bass in schools in Dublin. She composed a piano piece that was published in the Royal Irish Academy of Music’s album of examination pieces.
