The Irish Polish Society organizes a Dictation Competition in Polish on Sunday, 19th February 2012 at 4 pm, and a Dictation Competition in English on the same day at 5 pm @ the Polish House (20 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2).
Do you know what that is about? That’s easy! Contestants listen to a text read by a linguist and try to write it down with as few mistakes as possible. Our competition is open to all, who want to try it (except for specialists and experts accordingly in Polish or in English).
The concept of such dictations might seem unusual, but such competitions are popular in France, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and the Netherlands.
