  • Chopin Piano Recital

    On Sunday 25th April, at 5 pm (Polish House) Chopin Piano Recital will be given by Irish Polish pianist Danusia Oslizlok. Light refreshments will follow the performance. Admission is free and all music lovers are welcome.

    Ballade in A flat major (Ballada As-dur) op. 47
    Berceuse in D flat major (Kolysanska Des dur) op. 57
    Barcarolle in F sharp major (Barkarola Fis – dur) op. 60
    4 mazurkas (4 mazurki) op. 24
    Scherzo in b flat minor (Scherzo b-moll) op. 31

    Pianist: Danusia Oslizlok
    Born in Dublin of Polish-English parentage, Danusia Oslizlog has performed in concerts and on radio/TV as soloist, accompanist, and in chamber music. She has given numerous concerts in Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, Holland and Hungary.
    Danusia studied piano, musicianship, and chamber music. Graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Musique in Brussels in 1984 and the Royal Northern College in Manchester in 1986.
    She also studied music pedagogy at Kodaly Institute, Kecskemet, Hungary. Her techaers included: Ryszard Bakst, Valery Affanasiev, Norma Fisher, Nicole Henriot.
    Danusia also pracitises and holds a postgraduate diploma in music therapy from the University of Bristol, where she qualified in 1997. Since 1986 Danusia has worked in the keyboard department of DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. As part of her ongoing professional development, Danusia is persuing Masters in Performance at the Cork School of Music.

    This concert is organised on the occasion of Poland’s National Day to commemorate the Chopin Year 2010, the bicentennial anniversary of the birth of Frederick Chopin. 
    Ewa Pobłocka, one of Poland’s most outstanding pianists, will present works of John Field and Frederick Chopin, stressing the link between the Irish composer who created the genre of nocturnes and the Polish composer who perfected it.
