Discussion will be based on Dr. Desmond Fennell essay The Second American Revolution and the Sense Famine in the West.<\/p>\n

Desmond Fennell is the author of Ireland After The End of Western Civilization (2009), About Behaving Normally in Abnormal Circumstances (2007), The Revision of European History (2003) and many books and essays over a 60-year period. <\/p>\n

For almost forty years he has written lucidly and cogently on a variety of issues concerning Ireland and the wider Western world, often clashing with what he terms \u201cthe Irish liberal-revisionist ascendancy.\u201d One collection of essays is entitled: Heresy: The Battle of Ideas in Ireland (1993). His writing has always been stimulating and encouraging of thought and debate at the highest level as he explores what gives meaning to life. It is especially relevant for the current critical time in the world. <\/p>\n

He was born in Belfast in 1929 and has lived and worked in Spain, Germany, Sweden, the USA, Belarus and Italy. In the 1960s he lived in Connemara and was involved in the \u2018Gaeltacht Revolution.\u2019 His journalism of the 1970s offered an alternate approach to the Northern Irish problem and contributed to the intellectual foundation of the 1990s peace process. <\/p>\n

The Irish Polish Society is dedicated to cultural exchange between Ireland and Poland and organizes readings, musical events, exhibitions etc to further mutual understanding. This cross-cultural event will start with a reading and conclude with a discussion.
