\"\"<\/a>Sunday 3 rd March, at 4:30 pm \u2013 Polish Carnival (Shrovetide)
\nThe Irish Polish Society invites you for Polish Carnival \u2018Ostatki\u2019 with a concert of entertaining
\nlight music.
\nIn Poland Carnival, or Zapusty \u2013 is a season of feasting, drinking, amusements, fancy dress and
\ndancing into the small hours. It begins after Epiphany and lasts until Ash Wednesday. The last few
\ndays – Ostatki – are the peak of public merrymaking. It is also very much celebrated in most
\nContinental European countries.
\nThe Polish House is not a ballroom so we can\u2019t dance there, however, there will be a concert of
\nentertaining light music. Anna Kiselyova \u2013 a pianist from the Ukraine \u2013 will play pieces of popular
\nclassical music, Strauss waltzes and polkas, Irish music, pop music, jazz and more.
\nTraditional Polish p\u0105czki (doughnuts) and Carnival fritters \u2013 faworki – will be served.<\/p>\n

Cost of participation (payable at the door):
\n\u20ac 2 for paid-up members of the Irish Polish Society
\n\u20ac 7 for non-members
\nChildren free of charge
\nEverybody welcome! You don\u2019t have to wear a mask and fancy dress like in Venice but do
