In total, he spent 34 years in Ireland, of which 25 years were in diplomatic service, making him the longest-serving foreign diplomat in the history of the Irish State.<br \/>\nHis tireless work was one of the factors behind Ireland\u2019s refusal to recognise Communist Poland for longer than any other democratic state.<br \/>\nGet to know the fascinating life story of Consul Dobrzynski \u2013 the first Polish diplomat to Ireland \u2013who involuntarily caused the demotion of President Douglas Hyde as GAA chairman.<br \/>\nThis is a touring exhibition and it will be presented in various parts of Ireland. At present it is on display in the Royal Irish Academy  in Dublin (May 8-16).
