Discover and discuss the Jozef Wrzesinski Legacy – Tuesday 6 June 2017 – 7pm to 9pm – Polish House – 20 Fitzwilliam Place Dublin 2
Jozef Wrzesinski’s words are written in stone in Kielce and Dublin. In Ireland and Poland, academics or ordinary citizens who want more solidarity refer more and more to his legacy. During the Polska-Eire Festival, meet the man with Polish roots who first introduced the concept of “social exclusion”, who initiated the United Nations’ Day for the Eradication of Poverty and is the inspirational figure behind the 2012 UN Guiding Principles on Human Rights and Extreme Poverty. Join a 2 hours “Wrzesinski Legacy Free Workshop” organised by All Together in Dignity Ireland (www.atdireland.ie) with the Irish Polish Society to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Jozef Wrzesinski. Take time to discover Wrzesinski’s life and his approach to Human Rights and ways of fighting poverty. This is #DobryCraic too! The workshop will include a conversation based on quotes of Wrzesinski and a creative activity to prepare posters for next UN End Poverty Day (17 October 2017). The workshop will be run in Polish and English and will end with sharing some refreshments.
