Chopin Piano Recital will be given by young Korean pianist:
Ann Soo-Jung.
Admission is free and all music lovers are welcome.
Light refreshments will follow the performance.
The programme includes Polonaise-Fantaisie op.61, some Mazurkas and Préludes.
Soo-Jung Ann, born 1987 in Seoul, South Korea, began her piano lessons
at the age of six. She studied at the Korean National University of
Arts where she obtained a Bachelor Degree of Music in 2007. She is
continuing her postgraduate studies in Dublin, at the Royal Irish
Academy of Music, under Prof John O’Conor.
She has won several international prizes. In 2000 she won 5th Prize at
the International Chopin Competition for Young Pianist in Moscow. The
following year she was Gold Prize Winner at International Chopin
Competition in Asia; and in 2005 in Tokyo.
Last year, Soo-Jung Ann won the 3rd Prize at the 2009 AXA Dublin
International Piano Competition.She was semi-finalist in the 15th
International Piano Competition in Warsaw (2005) and she was selected
for the 16th International Chopin Piano Competition which will take
place in Warsaw, in October.
Soo-Jung has performed widely throughout her native Korea, in addition
to Malaysia, Japan, Macedonia, and Poland.
