Migrant Members Language Scholarship
In keeping with the unions Education and Development Support Scheme for members a new scholarship for the children of migrant workers is being launched. The objective of the new scholarship is to support opportunities for the children of migrant workers to study a language relevant to their culture.

AIMS OF THE SCHEME
To support opportunities for SIPTU members children to participate in language appropriate to their culture. Value of the Scholarship is up to €700.
TO QUALIFY FOR CONSIDERATION FOR AN AWARD – CONDITIONS
Applicants must be in membership of the Union for at least one year on the closing date for application. The closing date is the 30th September. They must be in benefit at the time of application and if successful, be in benefit when the payment of the award is due.
Appropriate language awards can only be made if the daughter or son for whom the application is made is and not older than 18 years in the year attending the language course.
All applications must be by means of the application form, completed in full and confirmed by the signature of the applicant’s Sector Organiser.
It is the responsibility of applicants to forward this form, completed and signed by their Sector Organiser, to the address given on the cover.
Completed applications are considered by a panel comprising SIPTU personnel and an independent person and awards are approved by the National Executive Council.
No correspondence or discussion will be entered into in connection with any application. All applicants, upon completion of the application form, accept these conditions.
