unnamed5Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa (1831-1915), a leader of the Irish independence movement, the Fenians, was inspired by the Polish rebellion of 1863. His funeral in Dublin in August 1915 was a symbolic moment that brought together people who went on to take part in the Irish rebellion of 1916.
